Lesson Policies
Tuition
Tuition is paid monthly and is due on the 1st of each month. Tuition received after the 1st will incur a late fee. Please note, tuition is prorated and will be the same amount regardless of whether it is a 4 or 5 lesson month.

Schedule
Lesson times are subject to change on a permanent or one-time basis due to changes in schedule or student absences respectively.

Christmas Day
Students will receive a credit or makeup for lessons that fall on these days. If you observe holidays not listed here, please make arrangements with your instructor as far in advance as possible.
If your scheduled lesson falls on Christmas Eve or New Years Eve, please be advised your lesson may be rescheduled to an earlier time.
Students who arrive late for a studio lesson will receive a truncated lesson. If your instructor is late, it is the instructorʼs responsibility to ensure the student receives their full lesson.
Cancellations
If your instructor is absent, you will receive a credit or a makeup for the missed lesson.
It is the studentʼs responsibility to notify their instructor if they are unable to attend a scheduled lesson.
For in-person lessons, we ask that students and instructors perform a temperature and symptom self-check prior to the lesson. If anyone that would be present for the lesson has a fever or other symptom of illness, we will conduct the lesson(s) online that day. Upon arrival, the student and those present, may be
subject to a contactless temperature check, required to sanitize hands and wear a KN-95 type mask. Lessons cancelled by the student before 12:00pm the day before a scheduled lesson are eligible to be made up, if a mutually agreeable time can be found. Makeup lessons must occur within 30 days of the absence (30 days before and/or 30 days after).
Lessons cancelled after 12:00pm the day before a scheduled lesson are not eligible to be made up. Online lessons may be an option for makeups or when school is closed due to weather.
We ask that students give two-weeks notice if they wish to discontinue lessons.
We occasionally post pictures from our recitals, concerts or lessons on our 1st Chair Strings website or Facebook page. Please inform us if you would like your student omitted from these posts.
